Igniter (HIT) Pre-workout

ImageOnly recently have I started using Pre-workouts, and I have grown to a liking of them. I worked my way up slowly by just utilising caffeine as my main “pump” source for when im in the gym, and than compliment it with some BCAA’S and Citrulline Malate, which was working pretty good for someone integrating a new stimulus into their usual routine. After that I decided I’d give branded Pre-workouts another try; as I have had a previous bad experience with 1MR a couple years ago. I’ve been using “Opus” for a while and it took me some time to get use to the surge of Beta-Alanine you get within 20 minutes of taking it. Slightly uncomfortable, but you get use to it, and eventually thrive of it. Opus is stimulant free, so with it I would take a Caffeine pill still to give me a boost. Opus works for the most part; I can definitely say it provides a new sensation while training, and what I find more than anything is that I feel I can recover faster between sets with it.
As for Igniter, it tango’s a little differently. It advises you take it 30 minutes before your workout (Compared to Opus with recommends 5-10 minutes), and I didn’t like that so much cause I mentally psych myself out with a time frame like that. When I take Opus, im ready to go, I have my head all mentally prepared to hit the gym, all dressed and ready to go, while with Igniter I’ll be taking it, and than still got time to kill…sit down watch Tv or browse the web…and in my case its just torturous to wait. As for performance; I took it on a leg day, and at my first exercise (Squats) I felt a off, like I couldn’t push it hard enough or wasn’t able to give it my all, but than when I moved on to lungs, I felt great, strong, and was able to push myself on the reps and weight. So as the training continued I felt like when it came to more compound movments, I wasn’t benefiting much at all from the pre-workout, but when I was doing more asisted and Isolated exercises….it was a completly different story; calf raises, lungs, and ham curls felt good. I also didnt feel like the cafeine content was enough for me in the mixture, I knew it was there but I wasn’t getting much “Umph” from it. As for the Beta-Alanine (A.K.A. The “Tingleeeh”) Did not feel the effects of it very much.

All in all; Igniter was alright, I would possibly suggest a serving and a half next time maybe, but its nothing special in my opinion. 5.5/10

Supplement Stack in! =D

Finally recieved my order from BB. Got some reputable items that I love like the Quest Bars, Creatine and Stevia. Also got some new stuff to try out. Heard a lot of good stuff about Cellucor Whey so I got the Cinnamon Swirl flavour, can’t wait to try it, and a new pre-workout.
