The “Swole Bowl” in its name remains a concept and continues to show its versatility as such. In it’s glory the dish delivers great taste, and nutrition, and in the case of requiring to eat a lot of food in one sitting…manageability. The motive is to make a healthy and delicious protein packed meal based on what you have on hand. Now for the reveal! Image

Salsa Mixed Tuna (Mix 1 can of tuna with Salsa and Hot Sauce)
1/3 C Black Beans
1 Large Sweet Potato (Baked)
Green Beans (Steamed)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Raw Garlic and Chopped onions
CILANTRO!

Its very much an idea of combining straightforward food sources; like your vegetable, your fats(EVOO), your carbs (SP), and your protein (T), and mashing them all together so you get one solid, delicious bite with everything. The key is to flavour the bowl however you like, but for me personally…Salsa, Hot Sauce, Cilantro, Salt + Pepper… never fails!

Who says you can’t eat cereal in the morning and get a sustainable nutritious meal out of it? People might often neglect morning cereals for a quick meal based on their mental perspective that it isn’t beneficial to fueling their body or giving it enough nutritious quality. However it is so easy to do, and can even help break a plateau if all you’re eating every morning are Eggs and Oatmeal =P.

Kashi Golean Cereal (1 1/2 servings)
half a cup of 1% Milk and half a cup of Almond Milk
1/2 oz of Walnuts
Strawberries.

Good amounts of protein coming from the milk and the Kashi cereal. Micronutrients from the strawberries, lots of Fiber and delicious Omega 3’s from Walnuts. Amazing what a bowl of cereal can do =P

At times where I find i’m feeling uncreative in the kitchen, but still want to receive my macros from primal sources of food, whipping up a SWOLE bowl is a nimble way to go about preparing a fare meal. Not only does it taste good, but the texture you get from this mashed up ensemble of flavours and ingredients renders a meal that is a cinch to eat. Develop a good pace and whofe down spoonfuls after spoonfuls of what is undeniably a big meal.
For this bowl particular I have:
150 grams chicken breast
2 Medium white potatoes
1/2 medium Avocado
Chopped Onions & Garlic
Salsa + Hot Sauce
Pinch Salt
Cilantro Shower.
Steamed Broccoli to get my greeens
Next time you got a bunch of leftovers, create your own bowl. Give it a try…just simplify your dish with a source of Carbs (I.e Rice, Sweet potatoes, Legumes, Quinoa, Oats, Etc). Pick a Protein ( I.e Chicken, Tuna, Shrimp, Chopped Steak, Ground poultry) add some fat from something like avocado, sour cream, Guacamole, seeds, peanut butter, butter, mayonnaise, or even simply a drizzle of olive. Add anything else to obtain the flavour your desiree (I.e Salsa for a little mexican flare, some BBQ sauce if that’s your thing, additional vegetables or spice) and “Voila”! Your got your self a number one GGBOT meal!
